I was reading through my blog list when I saw Alexandra from To Vogue or Bust looking super cute in her boyfriend’s shirt. At first, I thought the look was adorable, but not something I could pull off (I suspect Alexandra has a good 5-6 inches on me, height-wise…and I think I have a few pounds on her).
But hubs’ wardrobe is adjacent to mine (when my master bedroom reno is done, I’ll share some pictures of my super-fab Ikea Pax wardrobe), and I spotted this shirt hanging, so I decided to give it a try.
I kinda like it! I just tucked the front and left the back untucked (covers up my bum that way….not a bad thing).
I liked how the half-tucked look brought the shirt in a bit and took away the length in the front (men’s shirts are tunic-length on me). I added a sage green snakeskin print belt, and a glam bracelet and grey pearl necklace. I thought the girly accessories gave a little bit more style to an otherwise-simple look.
I also tried out my new riding boots (didn’t wear them outside = too much snow!). These are currently on clearance from Call It Spring….I still need to break them in, but I’m going to start experimenting to see how many different ways I can wear them once it’s warm enough….
shirt – Michael by Michael Kors (mens L, similar, similar), jeans – H&M (size 30, similar (on sale!), same), belt – ASOS (size L, same), boots – Call it Spring (size 7.5, same (mostly out of stock), similar, similar), bracelet – ASOS (same), necklace – gift (similar, similar)
What do you think? Anyone else going to raid their other half’s closet? I wore this to a playdate and it was nice and comfortable for bending, picking up kidlets/toys, but I still felt cute. :)
Oh, and as you can see, I’ve given up on my iPhone 3gs camera, and brought out the DSLR. *sigh* was hoping to avoid this, but I can’t take the hideousness of the phone pics. And don’t mind the construction mess around/on the mirror….we are SO close to having a non-construction zone…

Love it!
There are a couple gender-bending shirts that I wear, for sure. Actually, one of my fav shirts is my grandfather’s plaid shirt and it gets a lot of use!
I, For one, love the look!
